Novatech Energy’s Strategic Plan for
Capturing methane emissions from exiting and future coalmining operations targeting future zero emissions.
Natural gas can be as detrimental to the climate as coal if its leaks are not properly addressed. Even a leakage rate of 0.2 percent can have the same climate impact as coal. While natural gas emits less carbon dioxide when burned compared to coal, its high methane content makes it a potent greenhouse gas. Methane leaks from gas systems are more widespread than previously believed, but advanced technologies like sensors and satellites can detect them.
The Novatech Energy mission
To provide a system to capture and utilise fugitive methane emissions from coal mines by taking ownership and responsibility of the gas from extraction to full commerciality of clean energy supply. Implement a cohesive plan for miners to enable regulatory compliance for continued coal mining operations. Commercial utilisation of all methane emissions using innovative technology for existing energy markets. Initiating a clean fuel project beginning with a hydrogen pilot for future full scale energy markets for hydrogen and solid carbon production.
Novatech Energy projects are designed to be self-contained, utilizing both on-site resources and off-site facilities for the acquisition, production, and transportation of fugitive methane feedstock.
